InformationWeek: The ongoing cyberbattle between hackers in Israel and Saudi Arabia is growing more heated. Last week, a hacker who claimed to be Saudi released sensitive financial data for about 14,000 customers of Israeli banks. Israel’s deputy foreign minister, Danny Ayalon, said his country would view cyberattacks as foreign terrorism and “no agency or hacker will be immune from a response.” In retaliation, Israeli hackers claimed to have stolen credit card information for thousands of Saudis and said they are “waiting for the right moment to publish it.” In response to that attack, Saudi hackers then defaced the personal website for Ayalon. And now, a group associated with Anonymous has released passwords for 10 Israeli SCADA systems.

Meanwhile, it appears that the original hacker who started the whole incident may not have been Saudi at all. He could be a U.A.E. teenager who’s studying computer science at a Mexican university.
