InformationWeek: HP has unveiled the HP Converged Cloud, a new cloud computing solution based on OpenStack. The company has added additional security features to the open source solution and is positioning the new product as a way to journey towards a hybrid cloud architecture. Enterprises can use Converged Cloud internally to build a private cloud that could easily integrate with public clouds also built on OpenStack, such as those offered by RackSpace and Nebula.

A beta version of HP Converged Cloud will become available May 10. As part of the rollout, the company also plans to offer a 50 percent discount on its cloud services for a limited time.
