Search Engine Land: A new report from Hitwise lists the top search queries of the year across all the major search engines. Four of the top 10 relate to Facebook, and Facebook-related searches increased 33 percent over last year. The complete list includes the following:

  1. Facebook
  2. Youtube
  3. Facebook login
  4. Craigslist
  5. Facebook.com
  6. Yahoo
  7. eBay
  8. www.Facebook.com
  9. Mapquest
  10. Yahoo.com

The major search engines earlier published top search terms lists of their own, and those lists looked much different than Hitwise’s. At least some of those lists were based on “rising” searches rather than total volume.
