Cnet: After several past social networking efforts that fizzled, Google is taking another shot at competing with Facebook by launching a new service called Google+. Unlike Facebook, Google+ divides your friends into circles, allowing you to choose which groups of friends can see which posts. It also includes a feature called “Hangouts” that lets you video chat with other people in the same hangout.
The new service is currently available only to a small number of users. However, those who are interested in participating can sign up on the project’s Web site.
