ZDNet: Facebook has provided some insight into the number of malicious messages that target its users by revealing that it blocks 200 million malicious actions on its social network every day. Despite those efforts, 4 million Facebook users receive spam messages on any given day, as spam accounts for just under 4 percent of all the messages on the site.

Facebook says that it has 1,000 employees (out of 3,000 total), who work in some way to fight spam. “It’s an arms race, and our goal is to be one step ahead,” said Facebook’s Pedram Keyani. “This is a game where there is never going to be a winner or a loser. We’re just going to be battling it out.”
