FOSS Patents: A small Spanish tablet manufacturer has defeated an Apple lawsuit and a related criminal case in which Apple alleged that the company’s Android-based ntk tablets infringed on Apple’s iPad design rights. The Spanish firm is now seeking financial damages resulting from a customs ban on its product, and the Spanish government is going after Apple for abusive anticompetitive behavior.
The result could have implications for the ongoing European lawsuits where Apple is suing Samsung on extremely similar charges.
