Hewlett-Packard New CEO Unwinds Apotheker's Criticized Moves

Meg Whitman doesn't want to spin of HP's PC division.

BusinessWeek: New HP CEO Meg Whitman is reversing her predecessor Leo Apotheker's plans to spin off the company's PC division. She also said that she may revisit HP's involvement in the tablet PC market. The PC division accounts for about one third of HP's revenue.

Whitman is working very closely with HP Chairman Ray Lane. Whitman is focusing on hardware and corporate functions, while Lane concentrates on software and services.
