Working Smart in IT Operations – The Case for Consolidated Operations

HP: Small, individual IT teams can sometimes lose sight of the big picture in IT operations. Sometimes, multiple teams work separately to solve the same problem, adding unnecessary expense.

Consolidated operations brings sanity back to the IT department by eliminating duplicate effort, streamlining communication, resolving as many incidents as possible at tier 1, and escalating incidents that cannot be resolved by tier 1 to the right specialist the first time and with all relevant information. It requires monitoring by applications and infrastructure, establishing an operations bridge, and enhancing application and infrastructure specialist teams.
