AllThingsD: Former Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz has sent an e-mail out to all employees stating, “I am very sad to tell you that I’ve just been fired over the phone by Yahoo’s Chairman of the Board.” Yahoo confirmed the news with a press release which also announced that CFO Tim Morse will take over as interim CEO. Yahoo’s stock price jumped up on the news.

Observers speculate that Yahoo may soon be up for sale after Bartz’ firing. One unnamed insider told the media, “Yahoo is open to selling itself to the right bidder.”
