ComputerWeekly: Market research firm Gartner has released a new report which predicts that software as a service (SaaS) sales will reach $12.1 billion this year, a 21 percent increase over last year. Sales of customer relationship management software will drive much of that increase, accounting for 32 percent of all SaaS sales. By 2015, the SaaS market could hit $21.3 billion.

The report says that enterprise customers are becoming more comfortable with cloud computing. “Initial concerns about security, response time and service availability have diminished for many organisations as SaaS business and computing models have matured and adoption has become more widespread,” said Gartner’s Tom Eid.
