Digital Trends: According to NetApplications, 49.8 percent of all PC owners were running Windows XP in July. That’s the first time since NetApplications began tracking such data that fewer than half of all users were on Windows XP.

Usage of Microsoft’s decade-old operating system has fallen off by 12 percent in the last year, with a 1.3 percent drop in July.
