The Register: Hackers claiming association with the Anonymous group have uploaded e-mail addresses and password hashes for 90,000 members of the military to a file-sharing network. The hackers obtained the data by attacking a server belonging to Booz Allen Hamilton, a military contractor.
The group says it also obtained additional valuable information in the attack. Chester Wisniewski of security firm Sophos notes, “Anonymous claims to have erased four gigabytes worth of source code and to have discovered information which could help them attack US government and other contractors’ systems.”
