Cnet: Go Daddy has confirmed that about 445 of the websites it hosts were hacked last week. Attackers apparently obtained usernames and passwords for the sites and then redirected visitors to other sites that features malware. “We are still investigating the issue, but so far our security team is confirming this was not an infrastructure breakdown and should not impact additional customers,” said Go Daddy’s Todd Redfoot. “We quickly removed the malicious code and went to work to assist each of our customers to address the issue.”
Five million customers use Go Daddy to host their sites.
