Cnet: Chairwoman Cher Wang of smartphone manufacturer HTC reportedly told the Economic Observer of China that her company is interested in purchasing its own operating system. “We have given it thought and we have discussed it internally, but we will not do it on impulse,” she said.
HTC currently uses the Android and Windows Phone 7 operating systesm on its phones. Potential mobile OSes that could be for sale include HP’s WebOS and Intel’s Meego.
