InformationWeek: On Thursday, Google released its financial report, which revealed that total revenue for the quarter reached $9.72 billion, a new record. The results also beat analyst expectations.

During a conference call, CEO Larry Page and other executives said that Google is activating 550,000 Android devices per day, that the Chrome browser now has 160 million users and that Google+ has 40 million users. They also said they have hired 6,953 people so far this year.
