InformationWeek: As part of new CEO Larry Page’s effort to put “more wood behind fewer arrows,” Google will shut down Google Labs. Company senior vice president Bill Coughran blogged, “While we’ve learned a huge amount by launching very early prototypes in Labs, we believe that greater focus is crucial if we’re to make the most of the extraordinary opportunities ahead.”
Coughran added that some Google Labs projects will be scrapped while others will live on as part of existing Google products; however, the company has not yet said which projects will stay and which will go.
