Bloomberg: In order to defend itself in the ongoing mobile patent wars, Google has apparently decided it needs more ammo. The Android-maker has confirmed the August purchase of 1,023 patents from IBM. Details about the purchase were not released.
Before this latest purchase, Google previously bought 1,030 patents from IBM in July. In addition, the company will obtain 17,000 more mobile patents if it completes its $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc.
