Washington Post: Facebook has announced that it is adding a new “Subscribe” button to the site that will allow users to follow the public feeds for people that they aren’t “friends” with. The button also gives users more control over their newsfeed: They can decide how many of a friend’s posts they want to see, and they can block game-related posts.

Earlier this week, Facebook announced other changes that made it easier to sort friends into groups. Observers say both changes make Facebook more like competitors Google+ and Twitter.
