InformationWeek: Thanks in part to the fact that its newest iPhone is available through three network carriers, Apple enjoyed record-breaking sales over the weekend. “iPhone 4S is off to a great start with more than four million sold in its first weekend–the most ever for a phone and more than double the iPhone 4 launch during its first three days,” said Apple’s Philip Schiller. “iPhone 4S is a hit with customers around the world, and together with iOS 5 and iCloud, is the best iPhone ever.”

The company also announced that 25 million mobile customers have upgraded to iOS 5 since its debut October 12, and Apple’s iCloud now boasts 20 million users.
