Bloomberg: U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh has ordered the CEOs of Apple and Samsung to meet within 90 days and attempt to work out a settlement. The two companies have at least 30 patent infringement lawsuits pending against each other in various courts around the world, including Judge Koh’s San Jose courtroom. At the heart of the matter is Apple’s assertion that Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets copy design and technology from Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

Both Samsung and Apple said they were willing to attempt to work out an agreement, but both sides continue to prepare for a trial scheduled to begin August 25.
