Bloomberg: A new video posted to Youtube claims that the hacktivist group Anonymous will erase the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) “from the Internet” on Oct. 10. The two-minute video expresses support for the Occupy Wall Street protesters, but it doesn’t make clear whether the group plans to shut down the exchange itself or just its website, which would not affect trading.

Anonymous has previously launched denial of service attacks against several companies, including MasterCard.

The NYSE did not comment on the threat.
