MSNBC: A new report from smartphone security vendor Lookout says that 30 percent of Android and iPhone users are likely to encounter malware this year. Android threats are growing particularly quickly, with users two and a half times more likely to see malware today than they were six months ago.
According to the report, “attackers are deploying a variety of increasingly sophisticated techniques to take control of the phone, personal data, and money. Additionally, malware writers are using new distribution techniques, such as malvertising and upgrade attacks.”
