HP: If your corporation is about to be taken over by a private equity firm, you may be concerned about negative effects on your IT department, but HP says you shouldn’t be.

In this white paper, HP identifies several benefits of privatization, including enhanced emphasis on technology as a critical resource for growth, more autonomy for CIOs, and reduced regulatory requirements. Further, it argues that “CIOs who successfully prevail are finding that privatization can help transform IT operations. It can accelerate change and drive strategic investments, which in the prior world are often slowed by organizational inertia or other factors.”
