Bottom Line:

Astera Centerprise Data Integrator is a less well-known product but nevertheless includes a very full feature set. Designed for business users, it boasts a user-friendly interface. Its customers are primarily small to medium-sized enterprises.

Company Description:

Founded in 1990, Astera is a well-established but small software company headquartered in Westlake, California. It is privately held with an estimated 45 employees and estimated annual revenue of $17.9 million. Its customers include Hewlett Packard, Raymond James, the USDA, Wells Fargo, Xerox, Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Scholastic, Focus on the Family, Idaho Power, the United Methodist Church, Vanderbilt University and many others. It was not included in the most recent Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools.

The company focuses primarily on data integration. In addition to the Centerprise Data Integrator, its other products include the Astera Cloud Customer Portal for data exchange, ReportMiner data extraction software, EDIConnect for bidirectional electronic data interchange and DWAccelerator for data warehouse automation.

It incorporates data modeling, data profiling, data cleansing, data merging and migration, ETL, ELT and data warehousing, and it includes interfaces for many third-party products.
