Computerworld: Apple says that it has already sold 3 million copies of the Mountain Lion update for its OS X operating system. "Downloads of Mountain Lion have exceeded three million in four days, making it the most successful OS X release in Apple's history," the company said. That means customers downloaded an average of 750,000 copies per day. Those numbers look a little less impressive when compared to the downloads for the last version of OS X, codenamed Lion. Apple said that 1 million users downloaded Lion in the first 24 hours.
OS X Mountain Lion is available only through the Mac App Store and costs $19.99.
