TORONTO — The Linux Foundation first announced the formation of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) in July 2015. Now a year later the CNCF’s recently minted Executive Director took time at the LinuxCon event here to announce new members and free computing resources for projects.

The CNCF currently hosts a pair of projects including the Kubernetes orchestration system and the Prometheus cloud monitoring project. Kohn announced that CNCF is now also making a 1,000 node server available for open-source developers to help test out cloud computing efforts.
