Washington Post: Late Wednesday night, Yahoo launched a new Web browser for the iPad and iPhone. Called “Axis,” the new software also runs on PCs via plug-ins for the major browsers.

“With Axis, we have redefined and re-architected the search and browse experience from the ground up,” said Yahoo’s Shashi Seth. The browser offers integrated search capabilities that promise “answers, not links.” In addition, Axis allows users to sync searches conducted on different devices, and it lets users  pin search results to favorites or pages to read later.
