PCWorld: Judge Richard A. Posner has changed his mind about dismissing a patent lawsuit between Apple and Motorola Mobility. Posner had tentatively dismissed the case because he said he couldn't see a basis for injunctive relief, but he said he might change his mind in the course of writing his full opinion. He has now scheduled an injunctive relief hearing for June 20. He said, "The parties should be prepared to address the possibility of substitution for an injunction of an equitable decree for a reasonable royalty going forward."
The judge told Motorola that it should be prepared to discuss the issue of FRAND (fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory) terms for standards-related patents involved in the case.
