PCMag: When RIM debuted its PlayBook tablet, prices started at $499 for the 16GB version, but the day after Thanksgiving, you'll be able to pick one up at Staples for just $199. RIM's tablet has been struggling to attract customers. The company could be hoping that the drastic price cut will attract more interest. After all, dramatically lower prices increased interest in HP's TouchPad even after the company had announced that it was canceling development.
RIM is also running a couple of other deals on PlayBooks: Canadian customers can pick up $199 PlayBooks beginning today through Dec. 1, and enterprise customers who buy two of the tablets will get a third for free if they buy before the end of the year.
