Oracle Launches NoSQL Database for Unstructured Data

Customers can now download the database software that was announced at OpenWorld.

TechWorld: The Oracle NoSQL Database that it announced at the OpenWorld conference is now available for download. The new product is based on the Java version of Berkeley DB and offers greater speed and scalability than traditional SQL databases. Oracle's Marie-Anne Neimat says Oracle NoSQL will be useful for "customers who are acquiring massive amounts of data who are unsure about the schema, who want more fluid capture of the data."

The Oracle NoSQL Database will be available in a free community version or paid versions that come with commercial support.
