IBM Builds Biggest Data Drive Ever

Technology Reviews: IBM is working on building a disk drive that is ten times larger than any other drive ever built. The drive will have 200,000 separate hard disks that provide 120 petabytes (120 million gigabytes) of storage.

The researchers say the drive could help to create complex models for predicting weather and climate change–or they could just use it to hold 24 billion MP3s.
