InformationWeek: On Thursday, HP announced three major changes to its strategy. First, the world’s number one PC maker may be getting out of the PC business. In a statement, the company said it was exploring “strategic alternatives” for its PC group, including “a full or partial separation” of the business unit “through a spin-off or other transaction.”

Second, HP is killing off webOS and its TouchPad tablet. Officially, it will “discontinue operations for webOS devices, specifically the TouchPad and webOS phones. HP will continue to explore options to optimize the value of webOS software going forward.”

Third, the company is in discussions to acquire enterprise content management software vendor Autonomy.
