CIO: In a survey conducted by Dimensional Research for Dell KACE, 87 percent of enterprise IT pros surveyed said that employees at their companies use personal devices for work. 80 percent said that employees use their own smartphones and 69 percent said employees use their own PCs.

While that may be good news for the employees who want to use consumer devices, IT departments are much less excited about the phenomenon. 82 percent of IT pros said they were concerned about the consumerization of IT, with the top fears including possible security breaches (62 percent), possible loss of customer enterprise data (50 percent), potential theft of intellectual property (48 percent) and difficulty meeting compliance requirements (43 percent).
