Windows XP Will Finally, Really Die in 3 Years

Microsoft will end support for the 10-year-old operating system in 2014.

TGDaily: If your company is still running Windows XP, Microsoft says you absolutely must upgrade by April 8, 2014. That's when the company says it will officially end support for the 10-year-old operating system.

"Wouldn't it be great if the glory days lasted forever? But reality is trophies get dusty, records are broken, and what it took to be the best 10 years ago just isn't enough for today's standards," blogged Microsoft's Stephen Rose. "Things get better, faster. And eventually, it's time to move from good enough to something much better."
