eWeek: A new report from Futuresource Consulting predicts that global tablet sales will climb over 200 percent over the next two years and reach 232 million units by 2016. Also by 2016, the company believes tablet app downloads will account for 20 percent of all app downloads.

While increasing tablet sales have driven down netbook sales, the consulting firm does not believe that tablet sales will impact traditional PC sales. Most users see tablets as an additional computing device, not as a replacement for a standard desktop or laptop.
