Bloomberg: The U.S. government has sued to block AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile. The complaint alleges that the $39 billion deal would “substantially lessen competition” among wireless carriers. It adds, “AT&T’s elimination of T-Mobile as an independent, low- priced rival would remove a significant competitive force from the market.”

AT&T counters that the deal would bring 5,000 new jobs to the country.
