The Wall Street Journal: A new study by the Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in Journalism finds that citizens are increasing turning to YouTube for information about major news events and natural disasters. While people are still more likely to turn to TV news for updates about developing stories, the number of people who look to YouTube for information is growing. More than a third of the most-watched videos on YouTube were eyewitness videos.

"There's a new form of video journalism on this platform," said Pew's Amy Mitchell. "It's a form in which the relationship between news organizations and citizens is more dynamic and more multiverse than we've seen in most other platforms before."
