PCMag: Skype says that it has begun rolling out a fix that should correct a bug that has been plaguing its instant messaging (IM) service. Users have complained that sometimes messages have been delivered to the wrong recipient. “Although we cannot determine precisely how many users may have been affected by this error, we believe the number is small given the very specific circumstances under which the error occurs,” said the Skype blog. The problem affected people using Skype 5.10 for Windows, 5.8 for Mac, 4.0 for Linux and 1.2 for Windows Phone, and it only occurred when the application crashed during an IM session.

Skype recommends that its users download and install the update as soon as possible.
