SAP Wins Bid to Reject $1.3B Oracle Verdict

A judge reduced the damages award to $272 million.

Bloomberg: Last year, Oracle won a copyright infringement lawsuit again SAP and was awarded $1.3 million in damages. Now, a judge in the case has overturned that ruling for being “grossly excessive.” U.S. District Judge Phyllis Hamilton says that the maximum SAP should have to pay is $272 million.

Oracle has until the end of September to decide if it will accept the lower figure or seek a new trial.
