TechCrunch: A new report from Strategy Analytics predicts that Windows Phone will account for only 4.1 percent of the smartphone market in 2012, or about 5 million devices. That's a fairly small increase over 2011, when users bought 3.5 million Windows Phone devices. The forecast isn't good news for Nokia and other Windows Phone handset manufacturers, who were hoping for a stronger performance for Microsoft's mobile platform.

Strategy Analytics says U.S. customers will purchase 123 million smartphones in 2012, a 21 percent increase from 2011.
