Oracle to Buy Cloud Infrastructure Provider Xsigo Systems

Xsigo sells software-defined networking technology.

The Wall Street Journal: Oracle has confirmed its purchase of Xsigo Systems Inc., a software-defined networking provider. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Xsigo supplies appliances that manage storage networks in cloud computing and virtualized environments. It currently has more than 300 enterprise customers.

VMware recently purchased Nicira Inc., a network virtualization vendor whose products are similar to Xsigo's.
