PCMag: According to Nielsen’s third quarter social media report, Americans are interacting with social media and blogs about 25 percent of the time they are online. In fact, in May, Americans spent 53 billion minutes–the equivalent of nearly 101 years–on Facebook alone.

According to the report, women and people in the 18-34 age group are the most active users of social networks. 40 percent of people access social networks from their mobile phones.
