Microsoft Shows Off Quad-Core Windows Slate

Video and photos of the devices shown at a New Zealand event reveal few details about the tablets.

PCWorld: Published reports say that Microsoft offered attendees at the TechEd New Zealand conference a sneak peak of a quad-core tablet running the Windows operating system. Video and photos from the event reveal almost nothing about the slate; however, Microsoft Principal Architect Patrick Hevesi did say that one Windows 7 quad-core tablet will have a 1080p HD screen, an ultra-thin profile and eight hours of battery life.

Original posts on the topic said that Microsoft would be giving away the quad-core devices at an upcoming event, but those posts have disappeared, as has the original video from the event.
