Judge Rules in Favor of Hewlett-Packard in Oracle Case

The Wall Street Journal: The first phase of the HP v. Oracle trial regarding the Itanium platform is over, and the judge has ruled in HP’s favor. The ruling states that Oracle had an “unambiguous” contractual obligation to continue supporting Itanium servers. Oracle has vowed to appeal.

The trial now moves to a second phase where a jury will determine what damages, if any, Oracle owes to HP. HP is seeking $4 billion.
