The average IT manager makes $116,000, a 1.8 percent increase over 2011. However, some job functions pay much better than others, as help desk staffers make about $55,000, while cloud computing staffers earn around $110,000.

Demand is particularly high for workers with both business and IT skills. Pay for business analytics managers has risen 11 percent since 2010, while staffer pay for the same skills has climbed 8 percent.
