iPhone Is Tops for IT Pros, But Samsung Gaining

A survey finds that 35 percent of IT pros carry iPhones.

eWeek: OnForce has published the results of a new survey of 400 IT professionals who were asked about their smartphone preferences. The survey found that 35 percent of those surveyed carried an iPhone; 20 percent used Samsung phones. “IT field techs tend to be on the leading edge and often prefer open systems like Linux and Android. However, based on our findings, significantly more technicians are likely to recommend iOS to a friend or colleague than Android,” said OnForce CEO Peter Cannone. “Apple’s strength in the mobile market for the IT service community is clearly driven by the experience the iPhone delivers.”

Among carriers, Verizon scored the highest marks with 58 percent of customers saying they were "very satisfied" with their service. T-Mobile came in second among IT pros with 41 percent "very satisfied," followed by AT&T (35 percent) and Sprint (35 percent).
