Half of American Adults Use Social Networks, Says Pew Survey

Baby boomer use of social networks has increased 60 percent.

PCWorld: For the first time ever, the Pew Internet & American Life Project has found that more than half of all American adults now use social networks. That corresponds to 65 percent of all adults who are online.

The fastest growing segment of those using social networks was baby boomers--adults age 50 to 64. Participation on social networks among this group increased 60 percent from 20 percent to 34 percent in the past year.
