Google Hands HTC Patents to Use Against Apple

Last week, HTC purchased nine patents from Google; this week, HTC sued Apple for violating those patents.

Bloomberg: Last week, HTC purchased nine patents related to mobile technology from Google. Now HTC has sued Apple for infringing on those patents. Apple had previously sued HTC for infringing on patents it holds.

“Google knows that HTC is under tremendous legal pressure from Apple and clearly on the losing track,” said patent blogger Florian Mueller. “This intervention on Google’s part increases the likelihood of direct litigation by Apple against Google.”
