Google Flight Search Takes Off

Now you can search for airline flight information right from Google's main Web search page.

CBS: In April 2010, Google purchased ITA flight search software. Now the company has finally put that technology to work with a new Flights search engine. If you search for a flight in the main Google search page, you will get a new Flights option on the left side of the screen. Clicking brings up an interactive map and calendar.

You won't be able to purchase tickets through Google--you'll still need to go to the airline or a travel agent website for that. However, you will be able to see flight information and prices.
