Google Acquires Social Ad Start-Up Wildfire

Sources say Google paid about $250 million for the acquisition.

Reuters: Google has purchased Wildfire, a marketing startup that makes it easier for companies to manage their social media interactions. An unnamed source said the purchase price was around $250 million. Wildfire has about 16,000 clients, including 30 of the top 50 global brands.

Recently, there have been several other large acquisitions of social media companies. For example, Salesforce.com bought Buddy Media in June, and Oracle has purchased Involver, Vitrue and Collective Intellect this year.
